Hello! I applied via TMDSAS and AMCAS this 2024-2025 app cycle and unfortunately did not match anywhere yesterday. It has been pretty devastating but I am motivated to figure out where I went wrong. Given the timeline with waitlist movement and application cycle opening dates, I will have to begin preparing for a reapplication.
My question is how do I go about understanding where I went wrong with my first cycle and how do I move forward? I realize an MCAT score on the lower spectrum might have closed a few doors and I will likely need to retake it, as well as possibly being complete with schools on the later side. In terms of writing I feel like I was very thorough with every piece I sent out to schools, and I am planning on reaching out with a premed advisor at my old university to see where I can bolster my app further. In a reapp do I need to rewrite all of my essays and secondaries? I feel like some of my interviews went poorly and some of them went well, so perhaps I need to work on interviewing skills. Any advice on how to move forward would be appreciated!
