Hey all.
Anybody out there doing TMDSAS?

when did you send all your stuff in and when did they "send" to schools? I sent my stuff in and it arrived on 6/25 but no sending yet...

I know it might be difficult to go through all of the pages of the Texas 2004 appicants thread, but if you look back there through all of that info...you will find great info and you can see how we proceeded in last years application process. You should be able to guage yourself against what we all did last year and get the answer to your question. BTW, I think you are ahead of the curve in getting it in, so sit back and wait for all those invites to come piling in!!! Best of luck!!! 👍 🙂 👍

My app fee, photos, and cert page was received on 6/21---still no transmission to schools 🙁

Submitted 6/30 and no dice. UTSW and TAMU have pretty good apps.

Last year it took TMDSAS several weeks to process my application and I had all the forms, fees, transcripts, and photos in by the end of May. Be patient because it can take them awhile. Despite the delay, I still interviewed at five schools in Texas.

I hadn't checked in a while, but apparently TMDSAS received my letters on the 7/09/04. So, now I am actually just waiting for the application to be transmitted.

Yep, they received my LORs on 7/2--I didn't notice it for awhile either.

txguy, i think you'll recieve something snail mail, saying that your app is officially processed...

I sent an email to them, because they had all of my transcripts, but there was no "C", indicating completeness. Here was their reply:

Do not worry about seeing the "C" at this stage. Once we have processed
your file, you will receive a letter and applicant profile and the "C"
should be in there only if all transcripts are received. If after you
receive the letter the "C" is not there then please email me and I will
review your file.

Thanks man....they have all of my transcripts too (date stamps are there for each transcript), but I have no "C" either.


Checked snail mail today and the app status page and still not processed yet 🙁 (they received my 3 items on 6/21)

Anybody else? Date 3 items were received and date processed? 😕

From the posts above, it appears that it can take upto a month from initial filing to get final transmission. How would the timing work for Aug MCATers. Say one were to file everything except the MCAT scores ofcourse, by early June.

I imagine the app will just sit there till the score is available in Sept? For schools that screen in TX that means one wouldn't even be able to fill out secondaries???

Does this sound right to y'all?

I'm pretty sure the schools in TX don't screen pre-secondary--You can fill out the secondaries now (UTSW says that you have to submit TMDSAS before filling out there's, but you might be able to do it w/o submitting TMDSAS).

I'm pretty sure that you can submit w/o having submitted your TMDSAS. All you need is your PIN. Heck, I finished mine on Monday and they don't even have my primary yet (subbed 7/12).

I took MCAT in August last year, but submitted the TMDSAS application either in July or August. I had everything in (rec letters, photos, etc) before the deadline and the last thing that was received by the application center were my scores (10/15), which means my app was approved on the last day possible. I imagine it's the same with all August MCAT takers applying to TX schools. I interviewed and got accepted in SA as an out-of-state student. UTHSCSA is a GREAT school - I loved it there, but ultimately I decided to stay in California.

I wondered about their deadline (10/15) being right on the day Aug MCAT scores are out. Other schools in TX are on 11/01 deadline, though. One can only hope that scores are surely out by 10/15 with no delay or otherwise they may as well say bye bye to SA. Not a comforting thought for Aug MCAT takers. 🙁
