heys gus,

this is my first time posting, but have been a lurker for a long time. i hope everyones applications are going well...

I wanted some advice from u guys on whether I should apply to Columbia and Pittsburgh...
My stats:
oGPA 3.4, sGPA 3.15; DAT: 21/20/21 (TS/AA/PAT); enrolled in a 1 year masters which i just started... Oh btw, I am a Canadian resident as well...
Currently, i have 14 schools on my list, but dont know if I even stand close to a chance at Columbia (which looks at about 22AA, while I have a 20AA) or Pitt (which likes a high GPA)... Please help and thanx in advance 😀

Hi, I think you should apply if money is not an issue. What do you have to lose by applying? small $$$
what do you have by NOT applying? small chance of not getting interview
small $$$ vs small chance of interview, what do you think?

Personally, I would apply.

Your oGPA is a little low, but not that bad.

You science GPA is also a bit on the low end, but you made a nice "recovery" with your DAT.

If you are a second time applicant, you will also be given some extra consideration (so I hear).

Im a canadian applicant and i applyed to Pitt, but not Columbia. Mostly because i dont think columbia likes canadian DAT.

thanx guys =)

this is my second time applying but my first time applying to pitt and columbia... money is an issue, but im willing to sacrifice right now for the betterment of the future...

Cunners: where did you hear that columbia doesnt prefer cDAT.. did u call them and ask or did u hear it from someone else?? I have been trying to call these 2 schools for soo long, they r so hard to get a hold of arrghh..

This is from their website (under the FAQ section)

Do you accept the Canadian DAT?
Yes, but we prefer the U.S. DAT
