Hey,

I'm a Georgia Tech BME in my second year (third semester). I'm taking a BME 2210 course (4 hours) along with 12 other hours of science math and a language (12 is just barely full time). I missed 1 of 10 quizzes (which is all that determines grade), and did poorly on the 2nd one, so I'm thinking I'm looking at a very likely C and am thinkin about dropping it.

How badly will med schools knock me down for having a W in my second year? I'm involved in a BME newsletter and starting research sometime this semester. If asked why, would that be enough reason? If I drop this course, I could probably do a lot better in my other courses (prolly all As).

Do you think I should drop the course and invest my time in my other courses or try to rough it out?

Thank you,
-Dhruv

One W isn't going to hurt you; just don't make it a pattern. Learn from the experience and don't let the same situation happen again.

Agree...don't worry about the W this time but don't do it again. Gotta protect your GPA at all costs.

Thanks guys.. I thought so as well..

Next time I'll just keep up with all my classes from the beginning of the semester.. just got distracted this semester with some new things in life..
