Hey everyone, I'll try to make this short. . .

I'm taking an introductory history class right now over the summer (8 week course) at CC, in addition to spanish, bio1, and working full time. I'm starting at VCU in the fall as a transfer student. I was highly considering transferring to UVA in the spring, but now am thinking I most likely won't. The only reason I was taking the history was for if I transferred to UVA (not that I needed it to get in, just trying to get one more class out of the way that UVA requires for their degree). The class is not needed at VCU at all, and won't transfer as anything. I'm doing fine in all of the classes, but I'm really working myself to death with this extra-and now very likely completely unnecessary- history class (it's a lot of reading and is thus time consuming). I'm past the add/drop date, and thus would get a W if I dropped.

With this explanation. . . will the W be a negative in any way to an adcom? I'm assuming the general response will be 'it's not that big of a deal', but if it's even a minor negative I may just stick it out. I just really don't like the idea of reading 300 more pages, writing a paper, discussion boards, quizes, studying for midterm/final, etc. . . all for nothing. Any thoughts? Would this be a 'doesn't matter at all' to an adcom? Minor negative? Moderate?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

M
