hey guys;

I just had a quick question: do you have access to a blank piece of paper to jot down things when you are seeing a patient, or is there several copies of the history and physical paper at each station?

When I took it in Atlanta in July, I was given a clipboard with 12 pages of blue paper numbered 1-12 for each room to take notes on. They took up each page when they collected the patient notes after the 10 minutes was up.

I am taking it in Philly. I just don't want my paper look like it was written by a child. I would like some scraps to write my thoughts down and stuff. I hope they do the same in Philly.

September 29th...:scared:

Another Q for people that took it: how much space do you have if you decide to type your notes out? I am heading towards that route considering my handwriting skill exponentially diminishes during periods of panic! lol So, I figured jot notes duing the encounter and transfer it to the computer...Am I right to assume there's a computer outside EVERY room to do this during the 10 minutes?

cheers guys!

My apologies for resurrecting this thread, but I have another issue with CS.

I am using FA and UW as guides, and I have noticed all the information they put in the hx and p/e seems excessive. I printed out the Patient Note sheet on the USMLE site to practice my note-taking abilities, and for the life of me I can NOT put all the information from FA/UW onto one sheet of paper! How do you guys manage? Any tips?

cheers!
