Hi all, I took the DAT awhile back and I've been told by my adviser that my scores are good enough to apply. However, I'm debating giving the test one more shot before applying this year. I know I can do better, it's just a matter of how much time I can put toward the DAT while I'm still taking classes. Anyway, here are my scores:

PAT: 19
QR: 19
RC: 24
Bio: 17 🙁
GC: 19
OC: 21
TS: 18
AA: 20

Apparently my brain was not ready for biology at 8:00am. I probably won't be taking the test that early again. Anyway, I know a 20 is decent. But that bio score kills me. And that TS...anyway, thoughts?

Depending on which schools you are going to apply to! Schools such as USC would be totally fine with your scores. IMO check with the schools that you are interested in and see if they have a cut off for DAT scores. For example USC's cut off is 15 & UCSF's is 17 !

yeah I agree^ contact your schools that you are interested in and go from there. You still have a lot of time to prepare before next cycle starts should you need to retake it.

Excellent advice, I agree 100%, always contact the schools you are interested in attending.

everyone has an opinion but lets deal in facts. i got a 20AA and 17 Bio. 6 pre december interviews and 3 December first acceptances. my GPA was average too... 3.5 Ogpa 3.4 Sgpa....just sayin

a 20 AA is solid, if your GPA isnt too low you should get multiple interviews.

That's awesome! Thank you so much for your input, I feel a lot better about my scores now. I think my science gpa is around a 3.6 at this point, and my overall is higher than that...not sure exactly what it is at this point but science is always where my grades drop a bit.

So far, the schools I've looked at aren't too outrageous with the scores they want. But I'm just wondering how competitive these scores are at this point. With the feedback I've gotten so far, I think I'll be okay...but you're right, every school is different.

Your scores are just fine. Just remember to apply as early as you can. That's REALLY important and it will give you more chances of getting pre-dec interviews 🙂
