Sooo..... I was anticipating getting around 509-511 on my mcat due to practice and diagnostic test results. Instead I got a 503. Like WTF. I fudged up on CARS even though I was getting like 128-129 on the aamc practice test for that section. Not sure if I can work with this or if I need to retake, although it is a little late in the cycle at this point. I am an AA male with a 3.55 overall gpa and a 3.49 science gpa. I have little under 500 hours of ED scribing and I have like 4000 hours of working a non medical part time job to support my college education. Can I work with these shots or should I retake MCAT? I'm 26 so the idea of waiting another cycle and matriculating when I'm 28 does not sound appeasing.

That is the question.

But on a serious note, you should apply broadly to MD and DO schools. On the off chance you don’t get into either, then retake and think about a post-bacc. However, your chances are good for DO.

I believe Delaware has an agreement with Jefferson and PCOM
Please don’t apply to Jefferson. As a current student here, I can tell you for sure: you will be rejected until you get a 507+ This is a mid tier medical school that doesn’t quite understand...it’s a mid tier medical school. Still, if you have the extra money apply. All things aside, I like Jefferson. But if you want to be frugal, here’s my list:
Central Michigan :angelic:
Wayne State
Ohio State University
Wright State University
Virginia Commonwealth
Wayne State University
Indiana State University
Tulane
Medical College of Wisconsin
Western Stryker
Morehouse
Meharry
Howard
Penn State
Oakland Beaumont
University of Missiouri-Columbia
University of Miami
Rosalind Franklin
University of Maryland
University of Connecticut (supposed to be URM friendly, but iffy. Very IS biased)
University of Illinois (OOS tuition= $97k)

I suggest all these schools with your stats:
Howard
Meharry
Morehouse
UCLA-Drew
George Washington
Georgetown
Eastern Virginia
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Medical College Wisconsin
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
St. Louis
Creighton
