Hey guys,

So I was originally scheduled to take my exam this Friday. However, I am totally aware that I am nowhere near ready to take this exam. A lot has happened in my life in the past two weeks and even two weeks ago, my best practice score with Kaplan was a 499-so with that being said. It's a no-go. As is my life, I missed the "reschedule" deadline by an hour so now I'm locked in. I called and asked several times and they said this will not have any adverse affects as they do not release any info about "no-shows" or "voids" to the medical colleges. Either way, I'm going back and forth on whether or not I should even bother taking it for practice. I have taken 8 practice exams, I have extreme test anxiety, and I have a feeling that I will be guessing on most of the passages. Any advise? Has anyone been in the same boat? Also, I'm taking my test in January I have decided, since I'll be leaving for a two-week internship on Sunday.

Relax, take the exam, void it, learn what it's like, and then come back better prepared next time.

No more excuses, because we all have stuff in our life and financial issues. The MCAT has no special administration for people who had a tough two weeks. I don't mean to sound cruel, but if you want to do make it through, you need to zero in on what you can do to make yourself better not external factors you can blame for your shortcomings.

Good luck! You can and WILL do this!

haha I am a proponent of tough love so no worries. Just to be clear, there are no excuses, just trying to pick up the pieces of the situation I'm in, what to do, and how to move forward 🙂 I am absolutely ready for my exam scores to start increasing when I come back and was just wondering if taking it for practice and voiding it would be worth my time. Thanks for your reply! Much appreciated 🙂

take it for practice and void.

I really wish I had done this for my first MCAT. getting a feel for test day, test center, etc, is very valuable. plus it takes the sting out of spending $315...

Totally right! i have no idea why I'm so nervous. I guess I have this phobia that I won't void it correctly and then my score will be processed and be there forever. I know that's dramatic, but it's a real fear LOL Thanks for your response 🙂
