I'm currently on 3 waitlists and waiting on 1 post-interview decision (the interview was only last week), so I was planning to update the schools I'm waitlisted at and inform my top choice school that it's my top choice. I was waiting for my midterm grades, which just came out. I was expecting all As, but I got a B+ in one class. I found out that the professor gave everyone a B+ (I guess to make sure we keep working hard?), so it's not an accurate reflection of my grade. Should I still update the schools with my grades, or would this hurt more than it would help? I know a B+ isn't a bad grade, but it is the worst grade I have, and I don't want it to look like I'm slacking off in my last semester when I'm really not.

I was also going to include a line or two about some research I'm doing, which I suppose I can still do. Is it worth including the grades or no?

I would wait till early May to send the update letters, unless WL movements begin before mid May.

It's up to you. You may include the grades.

Ok, great, thank you. 🙂

Any other opinions?

Letters of intent mean next to nothing to schools, especially if you don't have an acceptance in hand (according to the adcom members on this board).

It can't hurt to send in a letter of continued interest, mentioning your grades, and have your updated transcript forwarded to them if you'd like. And by the way, a B+ is only considered "slacking off" on SDN 😀

I'd wait to update the school where you just interviewed at until May 14. No sense in doing it so soon.

Okay, thanks, good to know. 🙂

Haha it's just I don't have anything lower than an A- on my transcript currently (my last interviewer made a joke about it, actually, asking if I wanted the chance to explain that grade!) and I don't want even a slight downward trend if I can avoid it.

But I'll hold off for now and see how it goes. Thanks again.
