I have an interview at Toledo next week. I have an acceptance at TCMC (cheap, but new). I had about 10 interviews, with 4 waitlists. What do I do? lol

Should I spend another 500 bucks and go to Toledo? What are my chance this late in the season?

If you wanna go to U. Toledo, then go to the interview. If you don't want to go to the school, then don't. IMO it's not useful to base going to the interview on your chances of getting in, because if you don't go you will have zero chance. If having a chance of getting in is important to you, then you should go.

Edit: Though if you ask me, Toledo is a funny word! Say it twenty times fast. Toe-lead-oh. Too-lee-dough.

Toledo seems to interview later than most schools (maybe we just start the process later in the year?), so you still have a fair shot even into April. I interviewed in April and received a direct acceptance.

I'm happy here. Its a great program. But I'm biased I suppose. I've never been a medical student anywhere else. Go if you are interested in Toledo, don't bother if you're not.

i interviewed at both schools - rejected by TCMC, accepted by Toledo.

Things you might consider (and keep in mind might be colored by my rejection from TCMC):

Toledo is an established school - TCMC is not.

Toledo is a school with a history of high scores on steps and an excellent match list. (matching ~98% of people to their first choice, compared to 92% average).

Toledo has an integrated block system. TCMC does not.

TCMC is an exciting place that offers many possibilities as a new school, but it also is untested, and therefore may prove to be less competitive than toledo.

TCMC is going to be in housed in another school - all one building (*HUGE* building, but still just one) for a while (first two years) until the actual campus is finished. Might be too confining and distracting.

In the end, I'd go to toledo for an interview. You might like the school better.
