What kind of impact will the confirmation of Tom Price for HHS secretary have on medicare and the ACA? Can someone please enlighten me regarding the pros and cons, especially pertinent to the practice of anesthesiology? Thanks a bunch!

I think you'll be impressed with what you see from Dr. Price over the next couple years. He was my former congressman, and I've talked with him on a couple of occasions at the ASA Legislative Conference. His wife Betty is an anesthesiologist, a Georgia legislator, and may run for his now vacant congressional seat.

First off, you have no idea what my political viewpoint is. Second, when you account for the money Russia spent on this, pretty sure Trump's campaign had the upper hand.

With that being said, why do all Trump supporters these days just criticize Hillary and Obama instead of touting Trump's actions? Trump is president and Republicans are fully in power. What happens now is on their watch, no one elses.

Liberals (as well as most Republicans) never seem to acknowledge the deep connections between the establishment Democrats and Republicans. They protect the status quo. Meantime, divisive politics which doesn't really effect the super elite are used as false left/right paradigms. Meantime, no matter who wields the power, the super wealthy keep getting wealthier while the poor keep getting poorer. Blue/Red. Doesn't seem to matter.

Both parties get everyone riled up with things like abortion and gay rights which mean absolutely nothing to the super class. Again, the establishment (regardless of initial good intentions) serve to protect the status quo.

Trump stands up for America and expresses his opinions about the actions of the NFL players. Good for him, I agree completely with his stance and apparently the teams are starting to as well. Ratings are going down and teams will start changing their tune real fast. It is already starting. Football should be apolitical, but the NFL commissioner is an idiot and lacks a backbone. Middle America doesn't care to watch a bunch of over payed players and owners kneeling and disrespecting our country.

PR is a disaster. Trump did exceptionally well with Irma and Harvey, he is doing the best that can be done in PR. That doesn't mean things are ideal, it is a bad situation, don't forget the media won't cover that angle.

The economy has been doing well since Trump got elected, just the removal of Obama and the sleezy crooked democratic leadership boosted the economy.
