I had my identity stolen a few years back. Since then I've been reluctant to give out my SSN, but it's been tough to be cautious with this whole process. Anyone else feel the same way or am I just paranoid?

Isn't this why we have an AAMC personal identification number?

i agree, i've even had to fax things w/ my ssn on it (meaning hand it to pple at staples and let them fax it). it does feel sorta dangerous. It's too bad the amcas # can't fully substitute for it. My undergrad doesn't use ssn for anything anymore which is pretty cool.
