Just curious because most of the schools I will be applying too have deadlines around march and I was wondering if I should just submit my application in January or wait till July for the next cycle? Does anyone else think by applying now and not getting in and applying again next cycle would show I'm interested in the school and would therefore increase my chances of getting in next time?

Thanks
BTW I take my OAT in January....

I can't say this for sure yet because I'm in the same boat as you, but I think it's worth a shot to apply now. I'm also taking my OAT next month. Who knows, you could get in. Deadlines are March... not January.

A few schools deadlines are in February actually. I don't think it's too late to apply, if you are really interested though I would call the school's admissions office and ask them. If you are going to apply I would fill out my optomcas prior to taking the OAT though.

Ok thanks everyone for your replies, I'll just submit my application in January and just see what happens. I called Midwestern today and asked if there are any open seats still and the admissions person told me there are and to submit my application before the April 1st deadline.

I will be calling other schools and asking them about seat availabilty as well.

can you please let us know if any of the schools actually say not to apply or that they're full? i'd be surprised but it would be good to know.

Hey DellGirl, I just called SUNY today and I spoke directly with the admissions worker and I asked her if there any seats available for the 2011 cycle and whether to apply now or next cycle and she told me SUNY is still in the process of interviewing now and there have been students in the past who have been accepted that have applied in January, but that it is not common, and to just submit my application before taking my OAT so the school will have time to get my application from optomcas.

She was really helpful and she basically asked my what my grades were like and my experience and she said I sound like a good candidate and I have a competitive GPA, that getting into SUNY is pretty competitive.

can you please let us know if any of the schools actually say not to apply or that they're full? i'd be surprised but it would be good to know.
