I am taking the MCAT Aug. 3rd and planning to apply this cycle to majority DO and some MD. I am doing a masters at Kansas City DO school this year and will complete in May 2020. Will it be to late to apply to med school this cycle if I receive my score early September and apply as soon as I get my score? I have a 3.51 cGPA and 3.51 sGPA with strong ECs.

Late for MD but not for DO. Aren't your current SMP program linked with your DO school?
I'm just curious why are you doing masters because your GPA is not that bad.
Get your MCAT 505+ you will be fine for most of DO schools.
I would focus more on MCAT than masters if you haven't started yet.

If your DO app is in before Thanksgiving you are fine, but September is late for MD. Depending on the rest of your app and your MCAT score you could still get MD interviews, but if you do well your MCAT (like 513+) I would wait till the next cycle and apply early/broadly to MD schools. Also, to echo what was said above, focus on your MCAT, cause your gap isn't that bad.

I’m doing the masters cause I feel my undergrad school didn’t do good or had the classes to prepare me for medical school, a small college in Arkansas. I am also wanting to get involved with research and KCU allows the 1 year masters to do research Also family is helping me somewhat financially so I’m not worried much about the cost. The SMP guarantees a interview if a 3.5+ in their program and a 501, so I’m hoping I at least make the 501 cutoff

Took mcat late August, got *low score back in October, applied to 4 school, interviewed at 3, accepted at 2. Don’t think you’d be late

What schools did you apply to
