Im getting a little nervous since I have only had 1 interview thus far. Stats are 3.6 sgpa/37 mcat but i was only complete at my 5 DO schools about a month ago. Are they any schools I can still submit a secondary to within this next week and get an II for their class? thanks!

You reek of MD reject. How many shadowing hours do you have and any OMM LORs? If you're decent in the above two then I say go for it

15o hrs of shadowing in 3 specialties. I have a very nice LOR from a physician but not a DO. Are there any schools with a full class already? I read campbell is full somewhere which sucks since I was just filling out their secondary/

OMM letters aren't much of a necessity, but never hurts.

There are many schools that highly prefer or absolutely require a DO letter. Don't worry about full classes, they always open up a few slots and with your stats you should be on point with DO schools. Although, your stats infer that you probably applied and didn't gain an acceptance to any MD programs, so I am curious as to what your ECs look like? It's not TOO LATE, but you better hurry and get on it NOW.

An OMM letter is synonymous with a DO letter. Why else would you shadow a DO - to watch them see patients from behind a computer monitor?

You would be surprised to know how few OMM practicing physicians there are. I shadowed an osteopathic surgeon, anesthesiologist, family practitioner, and internist for my experience and letters. I was just pointing out for the OP that any DO letter should suffice. It just shows that you have in fact had exposure to an osteopathic trained physician and had the opportunity to get to know them, assuming you asked questions and what not. OMM is incredibly interesting, but very few DOs practice this on a regular basis.

Well I am so....

Hopefully we don't get screwed.

Lol @ 37 mcat and wondering if DOs would take you (even late).

@helpmewithochem lol I'm kind of similar, though the MCAT isn't as high.

My ecs are probably my downfall:
300 hrs of volunteering nursing home
300 hrs volunteering at school for disabled children (a good chunk was in high school though)
150 hrs shadwoing
The rest is cookie cutter stuff like likes to play golf and guitar etc

I applied to:
Lecon (interviewed and i really like this school besides the area)
PCOM
Nova
NYIT
CCOM
Rocky Vista

Im thinking of adding:
Western
Campbell
Touro Harlem
alabama
KCU

How do those sound? Are there any really good DO schools Im missing? open to all suggestions. thanks

Lolwut @ those ECs being your "downfall."

Inb4 OP is outed as a troll.

Those ECs aren't very impressive..very lacking, actually, as he stated himself.
How no md with 37. U is trolling men.
MCAT is only a number, you have to have the whole package in order to get into medical school.

Unfortunately, the high school volunteer experience won't be counted for much since ADCOMs are more interested in your adult life experiences and college experiences. You applied to very competetive DO schools with respect to average MCAT/GPA stats so don't count yourself out, yet. Now, do you have any IAs? Anything else that might take away from your application?

Your stats are not your downfall. I had 8 total shadowing hours and got in to 8 schools. It's hard to diagnose what the problem is though.

Look up the CIB and apply quick. Prewrite secondaries and show interest.

I have a feeling DO schools save seats for applicants in this situation. Every year I get a handful of students with high MCAT scores (35+) that want to apply this time of year. With some hard work and luck they tend to get in quickly.

DMU, MUCOM, ATSU, AZCOM isn't bad if you can put up with the high tuition. Apply to the state schools if you have cash to spare.

I have seen people with 36+ MCAT not get a single II.

I have a good committee letter, definitely not stellar since I was quiet in college but was still a good student, nice, kind, interested etc. so I know that that isnt hurting me that much.
I have an IA from freshman year where i was placed on academic probation for failing Bio 100. Then retook it again sophomore and got a c-. Thats probably not helping. Ended up being a bio major, got As in upper levels.
I took a semester off for medical leave that might hurt.
I also took all of chem and physics over the summer at a school thats not my UG.
Personal statement is pretty good i think but not exceptional.

Thats all I could think of. Ill try adding 5 more of the schools you all suggested thanks!

If you applied to top-heavy MD schools that have a focus on research (so a good majority of MD schools) then that's probably why you only received one II. You have no leadership experience and no research activities.

The cookie cutter stuff is the shadowing and volunteer work. The playing golf and guitar is what could make your app unique if you used it to your advantage while creating your primary.

Add as many DO schools as you want, one of them is bound to take you. As @chizledfrmstone said, each DO program does save a few seats for these fellows applicants in hopes it'll boost up their avg MCAT score. We have a classmate that has a 34 MCAT who interviewed at UCLA, Case Western, but applied and interview late so was promptly WL'ed at all schools and so chose to apply DO.
