Too late to apply to DO schools now?

Assuming I finish my AACOMAS primary by this weekend, is it too late to apply to DO schools? I have a 3.94 GPA/516 MCAT and pretty average extracurricular activities. My school list would be PCOM, Nova, Touro-CA, Western, and KCU-COM.

Way late for those schools besides maaaaybe Touro CA. Most of them are probably close to filling their classes. Your stats are very high though, so take a swing if you have the money to spare.

Try ICOM, they’re a new program and just started accepting primaries earlier this month. MWU-AZCOM really likes high stat applicants too, so that’s another school you could look into.

I decided not to apply that cycle. This cycle, I've already applied to allopathic schools, but I have not been doing so well with them. Now, I want to give osteopathic schools a shot, although I do understand it's late in the game.

With your GPA and MCAT scores as well as the EC’s you listed in your post from Oct, I’m scratching my head. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be getting interviews and seeing some acceptances. Where did you apply? Are your LORs rock solid? Is there something that’s occurred that may adversely impacting your app that you haven’t shared?

I think my hurdle has been at the interview stage. I've had four interviews already, but none have translated into an acceptance. I do have one more coming up in January thankfully. I am definitely going to prepare more for any MD/DO interviews I get between now and the end of the cycle.

It's too late in the game. At best, you'd be interviewing for a spot on the wait list.

If you're getting shut out from MD school, it's your interview skills that are suspect.
