Hello future pediatricians,

MS-4 here. I'm really thinking of switching what I want to do with the rest of my life. I want to do peds (currently applying for ENT), but I don't know if it's too late to get interviews anywhere. When are your interviews and do you think I have a shot?

Thanks for any input.

I think it'd be OK. If you're applying to ENT, I'm guessing your scores, etc are pretty strong. It's mostly about whether you have LORs and ECs ready to back up your desire to go into peds. However, if you're hoping on a super competitive peds program, that may be more challenging so if this is a dream, withdrawing apps and taking a year off may be a good idea. In terms of timeline, I just submitted a number of apps this week (weird situation, couples matching) and have received a bunch of invites already so there's certainly programs still offering.

It's not too late yet. I submitted mine late- beginning of October for some spots, then late late October for other places. The ones I applied late October I got interview invites in November and December mostly, then I even got an interview invite in January. The place I'm at now interviewed me in December.
