I'm pretty new to this application process. I'm a non-traditional and have a bachelors in business administration. I am doing a post-bacc right now to get all my pre-reqs and will be done this May 2013.

I was looking at the AACOMAS applications and realized today that some of the schools list their deadline as: March 1- April 1 2013.

I am taking my MCAT in April.

Is it too late to apply to DO Schools with deadlines in March 1 - April 1, 2013 if I want to matriculate this Fall 2013?

I have everything set up to go, meaning, I can get all my school transcripts and recommendation letters sent out priority directly from the schools and writers.

Thank you!

But if you get into a school this late it will probably be a lesser school than what you'd be able to get into if you applied in the normal time frame.

You're not going to get an interview without an MCAT score, and if you're not taking the MCAT until April, that's that. Next cycle.

ETA: Sorry, FrkyBgStok -- cross post!

The good news is that you will be ready to submit everything as soon as the application for next cycle opens up in June. Assuming you're competitive for DO schools you'll get early interviews and could have an acceptance before fall comes around.

Trust me, you don't want to wait to submit secondaries until October and wait for an interview until January like I did. Had I submitted earlier I could have been accepted last September, not February. It will save you money and be much less stressful.

No. there are still a few schools with march 1st or April 1st deadlines

Hold your application, get everything ready and apply June 1st the day the new cycle opens and give yourself the best opportunity to be accepted. Work the interim year and save your money for moving.

yup dude WAYYY TOOO LATE. However you will be early for next cycle 🙂

Most schools' deadlines pass in early March. Unless you get a 45, it's too late.

So yeah, it's too late.

First, Welcome to SDN! :welcome:
The next cycle starts June 1st. You won't get your MCAT score back until May, so it'll be perfect for the next cycle. Right now you can work on getting all your LOR ready (this takes longer than many people realize), write your personal statement/proofread/re-write, and starting making a list of all your job experiences & EC's. You'll be gold for this next cycle. Just remember to apply early (June).
Good luck! :luck:

You wouldn't enjoy LECOM-B then. They have tons of clowns in glass cases lining the halls. None as haunting as that gif, so if that's what does it for you then I guess you're ok.

Prep everything for the next cycle in June. Apply early and broadly and you'll get in fast (some people had acceptances in August this cycle). It takes one month to get MCAT scores and most schools don't accept an MCAT later than Jan of the same entering year, so the earliest your app will be in is May (the cycle is over by then, no more interviews or anything).

Perfect advice. Send in your app on the first day. Early is best when applying to med school. Good luck!

Nothing a simple match and some gasoline wouldn't solve.

In case the building burns down soon, don't subpoena me. I was joking.
