Too late to receive interview + acceptance?

It's already Feb. 9th. I have received two rejections in the past month. Secondaries were complete in Sept. last year. I call every week to check on the status of my application. The responses I get are the same from the three remaining schools I await a reply: "it is under active review."

My impression is that I am lower on their priority list although these are considered less-competitive schools I am applying to. What do you all think?

My hope is that there is someone out there, or somebody who knows someone who has received an interview this late in the game who has also received an acceptance.

I'm a 3.42uGPA/3.69gGPA, 29P MCAT.

Sorry, but yes, time is ticking for you. No harm in starting to think about your plan just in case it all goes pear-shaped. Having said that, interview offers are still trickling in, but interviewing this late is, for the most part, interviewing for a waitlist spot. I'm not saying definitely, but you know, plan for the worst hope for the best.

Go look through the school-specific threads for the schools you applied at. That'll give you a better idea of where you stand, since some schools are mostly done right now and some will interview through April.

Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Although you will find rather inspiring stories of people who get in at the last minute (usually around May), these cases are pretty rare. It would be best to start planning for the next cycle, if that's what you intend to do.

Do you really think that bugging them once a week is helpful for your cause? I can promise you it would have the opposite effect if it were me answering the phone.

I'm still getting interview offers. I just got an interview invite for an OOS school a few days ago. Hope is not all lost.

But even I am still planning to reapply.

I'm still waiting...
I got secondaries to all the schools I applied to, but I have not heard from any of them.
Not one.
I updated them with a few things, and they all said, "thank you and good luck!"

So I'm still waiting... however, I'm currently applying to a one year master's in hopes of reapplying next year.
It just sucks to see everyone either getting interviews, accepted, or rejected - while I sit and wait with neither of those things.

Good luck, though. Maybe we'll be the exception.

I think it's too late, and I have given up on all the schools I have not heard back from. I take it as they have rejected me.

5 in total. it is an expensive process and dishing out $100 per app is just not in my budget.

anyway, these replies are pretty much what i expected. maybe i'll think about going the DO route.

Going DO route wont assure you an acceptance if you apply to 5 schools again... most people apply to at least 10 schools if not more

$500 extra for applications pales to the cost of tuition and the cost of reapplying. You might consider applying to a wide range of schools to be an investment in your future.
