Just wondering if anyone thinks it's too late to turn in some applications for pathology.
Most deadlines seem to be Nov 1st, but still, do I look like a slacker applying at the end of october?
Any input appreciated...

You open yourself up to so much potential ridicule! 😛 Yes, it's too late to apply. 🙄

Are you serious? You're going to refrain from applying to a specialty just because it might look bad. Sounds to me pathology might not be for you.

Serious question posed in a not-so-serious way...
Personal motivations aside, what I am really asking is, how bad does it hurt your app?
Probably unanswerable. But I'll take the jabs if I receive some well thought out feedback along with it.
Thanks everyone, and good luck.

Theres only one way to find out. Go for it👍

Go for it. Though I'd recommend browsing this forum to see which programs seem to have offered all their interview spots, and which have yet to invite anybody. You'll probably have more luck with the latter.

For what it may be worth, I haven't heard from UAMS, UT Memphis, Baylor (Dallas and Houston). Anybody else want to chime in with places that haven't offered ANY interviews (as revealed on these boards)?

Ok, I'm glad to hear that about UT Memphis. I have been waiting on that one, and was wondering if its just me! 🙂

To the OP: if Pathology is what you want then apply, if its not...then good luck finding what is right for you. 👍

actually alot of programs have phases of sending out invites. there are "early" invites, which most of the strong AMG candidates recieve...and then there are "late" invites where most of the average AMG and strong IMG candidates recieve.

it's definitely not too late to apply....alot of programs keep this rolling invite season going through the end of november....sure it's a bit late, but it's still possible to gather up some 'views.

Thanks everyone! There may be hope to get out of internal medicine after all 🙂
