Would it be too late to begin the application process for the Army's 4-year HPSP? It took some time to really think about it before I decided it was really what I wanted, but now I am concerned that I am late to the game.

No, but you should make it your top priority and knock it out ASAP. You may not make the first round of boards - but for sure will get the second as long as you don't need any waivers.
Do you know how many of the scholarships are spoken for? My recruiter will have mine complete this week for the board to review? Do you think I'm in good shape?

None of the 4 yr scholarships have been given out yet. The board will meet in early January. Cut off for the first round of applications will be in December (I don't know when).

I had the same question. I didn't know about the military scholarships until a few months ago and thought it was too late. If I wasn't able to get in this year, is it possible to get the scholarship for your last 3 years of dental school?
The recent trend with the recruiting command is to give the 3 yr scholarships to those that apply for the 4 yr scholarship and are placed on the wait list. Those that try to apply for the 3 yr scholarship only after the first yr of dental school have started are at a major disadvantage to get one (if the trend continues as it has the past 3 yrs).
