hi! prior to this, i was unaware some schools don't accept online courses. i've taken general chem II, genetics, organic chem II, anatomy, college english, and microbiology online. however, i've taken all the labs online (with the exception of anatomy). i've taken a few upper level bio classes in person, such as zoology, animal physiology, or biodiversity. i believe my school's transcript does not state the course number or whether the class was online.

do schools usually ask?

thank you so much for any help!

You must submit transcripts from all post-secondary US institutions for your application. I assume the online courses from an accredited university?

Your registrar likely needed to approve you taking courses outside their institution for the course credits to count toward your degree. These courses must be noted on your transcript with approved credit hours but not your grade.

We don't have to ask, but admissions staff can investigate while screening. Otherwise we need more information about your courses.

hi! thank you so much for answering. yes, the courses are from a four-year university in the US. my school just offered some online courses, and due to the drive & mother's poor health (after a massive surgery), i chose to keep some pre-reqs online, while attending labs in person 1-2x a week.

I just recently found out some schools do not like virtual courses for pre-reqs, so I was wondering if this would be a red-flag.

thanks! : )

It's certainly not ideal, but each school has different policies. Some take online pre-reqs, some do not. You'll probably need to investigate MSAR/send emails to ask

It’s not a red flag, and most schools accept online prereqs.
