Obamacare expanding healthcare to 30 million uninsured Americans starting 2014. That's all I gotta say.

Careful guys... We might get back on topic here.

Your momma's so stupid, when I said drinks are on the house, she went and grabbed a ladder!

the myth of pharmacy expansion is coming to fruition. certain states already grant licenses for Pharmacy Clinicians. The US Public Health Service recently released a report that got the support of the surgeon general, and they want to include pharmacists in their loan forgiveness program [among other things]. Also, Obamacare includes the language that gives pharmacists increased levels of responsibility. The govt has been using Clinical Pharmacists for years, and even insurance giants like Kaiser Permanente are on board with the idea [I think it was the CEO that published his speech "A Prescription For Change"].

So, chill out. work hard. network. enjoy college. all that jazz. ride out the bad economy. things will be better in a few years.

now, back on track: Your mom is so dumb, I told her it was chilly outside and she went and got a bowl.

I am just very bothered by posts that are alarmed by the increase in pharmacy students.

I have worked for a big-box retailer for 14 years. I worked 10 of those years in upper management. We can not seem to keep our pharmacies staffed no matter what we try. And it is not because we are not competitive in pay/benefits, it is because there simply is not enough applicants!! On top of this, the area is growing so fast, that we can not keep up with the demand!

So - I have been observing this supply/demand issue for a long time. This is primarily what got me interested in moving into pharmacy. There is a huge demand for Pharmacists, no matter what you hear.

For me - I can not wait until I graduate and start working full time in the pharmacy of the company I work for. I am very enthusiastic, and optimistic for my future. I am also very optimistic for the future of anyone here who has good sense, and a good work ethic that is graduating with a PharmD.

Maybe you are more optimistic because you already have a position guaranteed at your company?

nothing is guaranteed. pharmacy has a major surplus. law school has more options than pharmacy.
