What are TOP 5 qbanks that were MOST useful (and MOST representative ) for Comlex Level 1 prep?

P.S: I will be taking my exam in June and I would love to start doing some practice questions now but I'm not sure which Q-banks I should utilize

THANKS !

UWorld by a mile... I would put USMLE Rx above the Comlex specific Q banks as well to nail down First Aid material

Just an FYI, Rx is going to me mostly 1st order questions. So you may be better just doing flashcards (Anking, etc instead) for pre-clinical portion.

I liked COMQUEST for pre-clinical for level 1. Felt it had more questions that mirrored the real deal. and just the overall flow of questions were better for learning.

Obviously UW >>> but youll learn more from it if you already have a good baseline. If you have to use it as your first Qbank because of finances, time etc. You can be fine as well. As long as you make an organized review sheet and actually read it.

School required Truelearn (COMBANK) and its garbage. Please don't get that. 1st order questions. None of which really mirrored the real exam. Explanations were half-*ssed. Just please whatever you do do not get truelearn haha .

There’s no substitute for questions, even if they are 1st or 2nd order. Comlex doesn’t have many higher order questions anyway if that’s your concern. Scores correlate with the number of questions someone does.

Going into UWorld with no prep will get you burned. Finish a Q bank before firing up UWorld. You can pick and choose which Q bank to use. Anki helps with rote memorization

1. UW
2. AMBOSS
3. Kaplan
4. OMM banks

Rx is too base level for my liking, especially if you are using FA while studying. If you have B&B, they have like 5 questions with each video you can use but they are not great, just a good source of extra questions if you already have it.

My 2c - keep it simple. do rx throughout the year if you feel week on basic facts. otherwise, just do uworld. do it throughout the year, do it again during dedicated. I have never understood why people say to save it. the problems don't suddenly lose their value because you already learned the concept earlier. it's also so many questions and it's difficult to get through all of them during dedicated if you're taking your time to learn from them. I only finished 2/3 of it and that's my biggest step 1 regret. I wish I would have done it twice. other qbanks are too simple and don't do a great job of teaching underlying fundamentals, or good test-taking strategies in my experience.

I also didn't do a single omm question for comlex, I just powered through whatever that 1300 card deck is in two days between step 1 and comlex. omm was embarrassingly enough my highest section of the test.

Actually really disagree with this post- I loved COMBANK (TrueLearn). I did the whole COMBANK twice, and I literally doubled my score on COMSAEs. I did UWorld also with only a 10 point increase. I also found when I took the actual COMLEX that TrueLearn was a really accurate representation of what COMLEX was like, whereas UWorld felt like a bunch of super specific random questions, none of which were on COMLEX. I think people just buy into the UWorld hype and keep spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a question bank that doesn't line up with the reality of what the test is like. For the record, I scored well above average on COMLEX.

Cool, glad it worked out for you but your advice differs from 99% of the other advice given on this topic. UWorld is king for most people, it's not buying into the hype necessarily. I also scored far above average on COMLEX and didn't touch a COMLEX specific qbank.

If I was going step 1/level 1 again, I’d start doing Uworld in late fall of 2nd year. It’s hard to know how valuable hammering questions, and more importantly the reviews, is to doing well and understanding the material. I disagree with the others about not using an OMM qbank though. Get Comquest, COMBANK is awful, and literally only do the OMM, ethics, and micro sections
