I have officially withdrawn from my medical school program. I completed the first 2 years, passed Level 1 on my first attempt, then completed all of my 3rd year rotations. I have accumulated 195.5 credit hours. I do not wish to expound on why I withdrew, so please don't ask.

Does anyone have advice on how my medical school credits can be used? Perhaps other graduate programs that they could be applied towards? Does anyone have suggestions on careers I could be successful in as a former medical student (except PA or NP)? My life is basically a blank page now so almost anything is on the table.

Those credits are worth as much as monopoly money. Maybe your school offers one of these gimmick "masters in medical science" sort of thing and they are willing to issue it for the credits.

You can be successful in a number of careers depending on your skills, but if you want to be in the medical field, you can consider podiatry, dentistry, and optometry. Otherwise, you'll just need to learn an entire new skill, but given that you had the ability to get into medical school and pass boards, you should be able to complete any graduate degree

For the most part, medical school credits never transfer. Most graduate programs are accredited because of their curriculum that begins on Day 1. This isn't undergrad. If you decide to go to another health professional program, you will start over and learn how THEY want you to learn.

We have already mentioned possible avenues, but you are back to square one with shadowing and getting career insights from those who practice. Podiatry would likely be your easiest admissions entry as long as you have shadowed a podiatrist. Other professions would require you to take the DAT/OAT (optometry, dentistry). Some are getting rid of entrance exams because of their smaller than desired applicant pools (greater chance to be accepted) but read around our forums for pharmacy and podiatry (again). Vet school is a different animal (figuratively too). You could see about PT, audiology/speech language pathology, or occupational therapy. We have forums in all of those fields.

OP, what’s your student loan debt situation? Quite a few dental schools will run you $500,000 to $750,000. Add on what you might have from medical school, and I would not recommend dentistry as a possible career.

You could petition for a “Masters in medical sciences” or whatever your school calls it’s SMP since you definitely met all the requirements for it and then some.

That’s about it though. Your med school credits aren’t otherwise worth anything if you didn’t complete the degree. Even the masters is of little utility as that’s just something people trying to get into med school get.

Was the medical school paired with the dental school/did you take classes with the dental? I know a few people who switched from medical to dental or vice versa.
