I am in the second year of my Maxfac residency in Europe.
Recently my cousin, knowing my medical background, contacted me; he asked if I knew any top clinicians who perform high level LeFort osteotomies.
For context, my cousin has pan-midfacial hypoplasia and a near 1cm underbite, which I'd class as in the moderate to severe category.
He has always been self conscious about it and really wants to fix the problem.
I know that high level LeForts are generally performed in syndromic cases but I am also aware that it's not totally unprecedented in non syndromic patients as well.
Regardless of what I say, I know that my cousin is going to pursue this so i feel like I owe it to him to come up with a list of reputable maxfacs in Europe or even America who perform high level osteotomies.
I appreciate this is an unorthodox request but any help would be appreciated.
I don't want him going to some yes man in a developing country, who will tell him exactly what he wants to hear.
