Firstly, what are considered to be "top" post baccalaureate programs?

I've applied to San Francisco State, Cal State East Bay and Mills with a 3.4 from a top UC, no clinical expereince (plenty of paid work experience though -- had to help pay the bills in college ;). I haven't taken any pre-med classes and intend to complete all of them, in addition to volunteering, while in post-bacc.

Do I have a chance to get into SFSU, CSU East Bay or Mills with my stats? These schools are not among the "top"/competitive programs are they?

The postbacc FAQ thread has a list of 'top' programs. Different people have different definitions of 'top.' With regards to formal career-changer (as opposed to GPA-booster) postbacc programs, Bryn Mawr, Goucher, & Scripps are usually tied for the top slot. They are similar (although not identical) in structure and competitiveness.

I don't happen to know much about the schools you've listed, so I can't answer your question about your chances. i can say that if you do not have medical experience such as volunteering and/or shadowing, then your application will not be as strong as it could be. Start doing that now; not only will it strengthen your postbacc application, it will also give you stories on which to draw when you explain to your interviewer why it is you want to be a doctor.

Good luck!
