Pretty much anywhere.

He didn't get a single A his first two years (all Bs, the C+, and the two W's), with about a 3.2 ish GPA. Is this not-so-stellar first two years a red flag?

Just curious. How much would his chances decrease if his GPA were a little lower? Say 3.47 cumulative and 3.45 science.

What should his list look like? Should he apply to most of the top 20?
An authentic African American with the application you described could apply to any school with a reasonable chance at an interview.

Even at Harvard/Stanford?

Even at Harvard/Stanford?
100% yes.

World of medicine fully needs more Black male physicians.

Not only is he AA, but he is also a stellar medical school candidate in his own right. S/He can go anywhere.

Apply to all top 20 (other than UCSD, UWash), state schools, and HBCUs and call it a day

100% of applicants with these stats from 2013-2016 were accepted to medical school. All 16 of them.

So you think he has a good chance for Harvard/Stanford?

He is a competitive applicant for both of these schools

How about if the GPAs were as follows:
cumulative: 3.42
science: 3.40

Still a competitive applicant with a good shot?

Not much.

How about with 3.39 cGPA and 3.36 sGPA? Just trying to see how much of an effect you think these decreases would have?

Is your "friend" trying to figure out how far his GPA can drop before he is no longer competitive? because you might as well just list the whole range of numbers now and stop bumping this thread.
Based on the Harvard website: Admissions FAQs | HMS, there is no minimum cutoff GPA.
So.. guess you can tell your "friend" that he can bomb as many classes as he wants, and he'll still be a shoo-in /sarcasm
