I have tried the Top Score RC and found it a little annoying when scrolling down or up. It's just hard to stop at the exact spot I want (it either goes too far down or too little..) So I was just wondering if the real DAT reading comp section will be just like that. For those of you who has tried the Topscore and then taken the DAT, could you tell me what it was like??

Thanks,

I liked TopScore better than the real thing. In the real thing you have the entire passage on one page, then you click next and the first question pops up that covers 50% of the screen. The passage covers the lower 50% of the screen and you can scroll through it. I didn't have any problems with the passage not stopping where I wanted it to when scrolling. The passages were numbered like TopScore. There was no scroll wheel on the mouse I was using. As far as questions, they didn't seem to be in exact order like TopScore where you can predictably find the answers to each question sequentially by paragraph. There were more "what was the tone of such and such passage" but I actually found the real thing easier than the TopScore. I got a 24 on the real thing and was getting around 20 on topscore.

i thought the real thing was easier than topscore, but you still have to scroll up and down to find the question and answers, and my mouse was kind of sticky so that was obnoxious. but as far as actual questions and obviousness of answers the real thing was easier to me.

Thank you Utes and Biogirl361 for your responses. It really helped. 🙂
