Could I get some feedback on this for an adversity/challenge prompt? I’m a little hesitant to talk about personal medical issues, but this topic is what comes to mind.

A few years ago I had a head injury and had symptoms afterwards that didn’t go away for months (Severe headaches, lightheadedness, blurry vision, fatigue, forgetfulness). It was bad enough that I had a hard time with a lot of regular activities. I lost my job and couldn’t hold another one. I lost a lot of my independence and had to rely on family for basic things.

I started feeling emotionally down and apathetic. However, I began learning how to deal with (thankfully temporary) restrictions on how I normally functioned, and learned to use some strategies to stay positive. As I started to recover I motivated myself to make new plans, which I followed once I was able to do so.

Sounds like you had to learn how to do somethings over again, or adapt to quite different circumstances. Definitely an example of adversity to me. Do you have a more specific question or you’re just wondering if it’s a topic worth discussing?

I guess I was just looking for general feedback on whether this is appropriate as a topic (I've heard before that applicants should avoid talking about personal medical issues).
