EK says the total pressure at the bottom of a 10m deep swimming pool full of pure water is 1atm.

Shouldn't it be 2atm? The 1atm from the atmosphere plus the ~1atm of pressure created by the column of water?

Total pressure? Yes, it should be 2 atm. Or at least larger than 1 atm. They probably mean just the pressure due to the water itself. 😕

Yea I figured they just got confused. I wanted to make sure I wasn't confused though 🙂 Here's a direct quote.

Sounds about wrong. Unless you have a vacuum on top of the pool. At least I cannot come up with a plausible scenario how that would work.
