So, I'm fortunate enough to have been accepted into CCOM and Touro-CA which are both exceptional schools, but I'm having an extremely hard time deciding between them.... If you guys have any advice, it would really be appreciated!

CCOM

Pros:
1) Very well established/ respected
2) Amazing clinical rotations that are well established
3) Great residency match rates and routinely matches students into well-respected residencies
4) Near a big city with a lot of things to do
5) I can move away and experience life on my own.

Cons:
1) EXTREMELY expensive
2) No family support
3) Can't get a dual MPH degree.
4) Weather (I've never ever lived in snow)
5) Fiance would need to get a new job (which shouldn't be extremely hard, but it's still an extra thing to do)
6) Harder to land a residency in CA

Touro-CA

Pros:
1) Much more cost-effective/ I can live at home for the first 2 years.
2) All of my family and my fiancé's family are in the Bay Area
3) I can get an MPH degree as well.
4) Fiance does not need to move or look for a new job.
5) Frequently matches students into California residencies.

Cons:
1) Don't really want to stay in the Bay Area anymore
2) Clinical rotations don't seem that well established.
3) Didn't like the campus or the vibe I got during the interview
4) School didn't seem as well equipped as CCOM
5) Very very focused on primary care (I'm not absolutely sure that's what I want to go into)
6) Doesn't seem to match students into as many well-respected residencies as CCOM does
7) Cadavers are shared between 7 people and there are rotating stations...

If you guys can give me some advice, I would greatly appreciate it! I've literally been debating about this for the last week and it's so hard to decide. AHH!

Being near your family, not being uprooted, and much nicer weather is a major positive for Touro-CA. Yea, their campus is ugly and I have heard some iffy remarks about their rotations, but still I don't think the cost (and move, and weather) of CCOM is worth it.

Ultimately, it will be up to you to make yourself competitive no matter where you go. One DO school won't make a huge difference in this over another.

Yeah, I guess I'm feeling like I want to get away from my family circle at the moment. I've been around them my entire life (even in college) and there's a part of me that wants to get away and do my own thing. I guess I'm choosing between practicality and gut feeling.
