Hi Everyone,
I will be starting my studies at TOUROCOM NY in July/August. I am looking for some input from current student on how to go about finding housing in the Manhattan area. I know that I would want to share an apartment with roomates as that would be more affordable than living on my own. My question is how did you find the apartment that you are living in right now? My impression is that lots of students end up sharing a room with others who go to Touro, how did you manage to coordinate that? Did you try to arrange for everyone to meet in NYC at the same time to look at apartments? The NYC housing market seems so sporadic and apartments go very quickly.....Did you find a place through a broker or just ads.? Any tips or advice that you can share?
Also, if any of you upper year Touro students will be moving out of your apartment for rotations (or other reasons) next year, and will be leaving behind a good room, or know of a good apartment that has vacant rooms and care to share some info (you can PM me if you want), I will be very grateful! 🙂
My main concern is the safety of the area as well as the roommates I will be sharing the place with. I am a very social, but my priority is school work, so I would prefer to share an apartment with others who other go to Touro or other professional school.
Thanks a bunch!
