So I am applying to Towson's MOT program. I have looked everywhere on the net for info on how difficult the acceptance process is etc. I have my undergrad in Psychology and have been out of school for the past four years (I graduated with a 3.87 GPA). I can apply now because I have 6 of the 9 pre req's but I want to make sure I get in. I live in MD and I cannot really afford to go out of state... My question is has anyone apply and did you get in or not? Or has anyone graduated from there?
Also as far as shadowing/fieldwork, they require 30 hours. I have spent the past four years working as a Psychiatric Rehab Specialist, two years with adults and two years with children. I basically teach social, daily living and coping skills to people with mental illnesses or developmental disabilities. Do you think this is good enough for my application or should I try to shadow an OT also? I really want this, I just had to wait until I paid off my undergrad loans, will it hurt me that four years have gone by?
Any feedback is welcomed. Thank you.
