For this question, why isn't the answer B? Are you supposed to assume that there is no friction?

Yes, in this question, you assume that there are no addition forces (ie. friction) acting upon it's centripetal force release.--->A

They really should have included the (ignore friction) text...

I think you always assume that there is no air resistance and no addition forces upon the system if it doesn't say anything.
 
Which company is better to buy the MCAT books from?
You probably should search that through the search engine as your question has nothing to do with this thread.

Everyone has different opinions/situations based on the books that were most useful to them. So use the search engine and decide yourself. I personally think Kaplan goes too much in depth, but the summaries in the back are pretty useful.
