Just wondering if anyone else finds TPR bio passages harder than AAMC bio ones...?
I feel like the "experiments" they ask about are more vague, and its harder to see what exactly they are asking about as opposed to with the AAMC questions. Anyone else think so?

i found the actual mcat closer to TPR bio level, aamc bio is much easier i felt than the real thing (except maybe BS from aamc 10 and 11)

can you be a bit more specific? is it slightly harder or easier than TPR bio?

to be completely honest, TPR bio isn't that tough.

real thing was a little more difficult compared to TPR.

real thing was much much more difficult than AAMC exams

Is it just me, or are the bio passages in the science workbook best used in conjunction with the TPR Bio content book?

I used EK Bio for one of the chapters and found the TPR passages related to the topic were difficult to work through. Whereas, when I used TPR Bio, the passages were easier to answer.

Also, what are you guys averaging on your TPR Bio passages?

EK bio content review book doesn't go into nearly as much detail as the TPR bio content review book, so it isn't surprising that the workbook passages seem easier after reading TPR chapters. Having said that, much of the details covered in the TPR bio content review book and the workbook passages aren't necessary on the real deal.

And my average for the science workbook bio passages is around 75%.

When I took the mcat the first time I felt tprh was very representative of the real deal. TBR is the real monster.

Well that's ok I guess... I'm getting around 75%-80% correct on TPR passages... I just find the questions to be so much more vague than the AAMC ones. I feel much less confident after I take TPR passages, even though my outcome is basically the same. That's all I was trying to say. So you're saying the real MCAT is more vague like them?

I don't exactly understand what you mean by vague, but yes, I felt that the difficulty and type of passages were representative.

Aha.. well I guess I'm gonna keep using them in that case. Thanks guys!

Jeez I think some of them are pretty tough, now I feel unprepared if people are saying they are easier. And the ICC absolutely kills me! I haven't had a non experimental question yet, which is good practice but doesn't do great things for my confidence!

probably TBR, TPR ICC, and TPR online passages.

I've been looking for someone to say TPR online bio passage were harder than the TPR Sciencework book passages.

The online passages kill me way more often than the workbook passages do.

Have you heard this from a lot of people?

I find that to be true as well. I really hope the real thing isn't that extreme. Some passages were just obnoxious
