So I don't understand why it's not B.

I guess my question is... don't viruses incorporate DNA from the host cell into their own DNA, or are the progeny viruses that are produced from infection of the same (relatively, aside from mutations) genome??

This is bugging me out.

Ehh, viruses can incorporate DNA from their host, but its really random, and it doesnt hapen all of the time, so the chances of E1B being encorporated are really small. The virus wont realy be able to know that its lacking E1B and then incorporate that specific gene.

sweet thanks, I looked it up, and pretty much you're right. For the most part, viruses do get incorporated into the host DNA, but only for the sake of replication, not for incorporating new genes and such (which can happen, although beyond the MCAT)

Thanks dude!
