Hey guys! So I was really lucky to spontaneously get off a couple of waitlists all at once, but now I'm confused about how much time I have to choose based on traffic rules. Maybe you all can help me? Here is the situation:

1. Had one acceptance (school 1)
2. Got another acceptance after April 30th (school 2) and given one week to decided between 1 and 2
3. Two days after acceptance at school 2, got accepted to school 3 which gave me two weeks to decide whether or not to hold their acceptance.

So my main question is, if I don't drop school 3 by the deadline school 1 gave me to decide between school 1 and school 2, do I forfeit my place at school 2?

I'm so sorry this is so confusing X( Any help is appreciated

I assume school 2 gave you the 1 week deadline, not school 1.

In any case, sounds like if you don't make a choice you may be dropped from both, although I doubt that'll be the case . They clearly all want you. I think you're fine with the extra week of waiting to decide on school 3, although you should email school 2 and let them know you'll be taking another week to decide between them and school 3.

Good luck

The deadline given to you by school 1 is a deadline that is solely because you asked about school 2 and got a week reprieve. The acceptance by school 3 changes that entirely in all school's favor. In other words, all deadline extensions are now off the table. That is, school 1 is no longer obligated to hold their acceptance now that you have an additional acceptance. Nor is school 2 for that matter . You would need to now call both and ask for an extension which is doubtful.

What you need to do is to make a decision. If you say "but I am waiting for Financial Aid," there is no obligation by any school to provide you with Financial Aid prior to the admissions deadline. I suggest you quickly eliminate one school within 24 hours
What if you received both of your admissions on the same day, after Traffic Day?
Problem is, I still haven't received the 'formal letter' in the mail from one, which I am hoping will tell me how to accept or deny the offer (the email didn't say, it was just like "You're in! See you in July")

You need to call all the schools and apprise them of the situation, especially the one you want to turn down. Acceptance are when the school notes you have been accepted. Your response and/or slow mail do not matter in the rules, technically.
Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow. It was a weird mishmash of timing, as one school emailed (but the formal offer was theoretically the letter, which I have yet to receive) and the other called (but the formal offer came via email a few days later). I didn't want to reject anybody until I had everything in writing!

On April 30, declined all acceptances except one, per traffic rules. Just now came off the waitlist at school #2, which provided me with a 2 week decision deadline. So, currently, I am holding two acceptances. Am I allowed to "hold" both of these acceptances for two weeks while I decide?
