At what point do you guys think not being verified by AMCAS starts to hurt you in the app. process? Is it the end of June or sometime in July? I am experiencing some transcript delays from my schools right now, and starting to get concerned.

If it's not done by September I would begin to worry a bit. Just don't sit on your secondaries long if it goes into August and you'll be fine.

So, AMCAS by September or secondaries by September?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but it doesn't really matter. The earliest secondary invitations tend to arrive in August and many don't come until September or later. This includes if you submit your AMCAS on day one and have it verified very early. Some schools have secondaries you can fill out online or send earlier if you so choose, but interview invites don't start coming usually until at the earliest September and usually later.

My point is you have plenty of time and you shouldn't worry about it for now.

Just want to add in case any of you are applying MD-only that those secondaries start arriving in *July* and interviews start at some schools in *August.* The first offers are made in *October* for people who are applying regular decision. So, any MD-only folks should try to have your AMCAS complete by the end of June if you can. :luck: to everyone who is applying this cycle. 🙂

I guess I didn't realize that the process starts categorically later for MSTPs than MD-only. I was under the impression that it varies from school to school. Interesting, and thanks for the peace of mind.

I didn't apply MSTP, so I hadn't realized that the time scales were different either. And I'm sure most of the users of this forum are applying MSTP, so Neuro's advice will hold for almost all of you. But applying that late is definitely *not* the best plan for MD-only folks, especially if they're applying to rolling schools. MD applicants are way behind the curve if they're just submitting secondaries in October when other people are already getting accepted.
