Okay, so around two weeks ago, AMCAS emailed me saying they received my transcripts, which was such a relief. Now, I was double-checking my application with an unofficial transcript to check everything was correct. I majored in Biology and minored in chemistry; however, on the unofficial transcript it does not indicate the minor. Now I have no idea what to do...my LORs all state I have a minor, I have stated I have a minor on my application (which has not yet been submitted), but the transcripts don't indicate that. I talked to a representative at my university and she said I was supposed to declare it, while I was told earlier that completing the prereqs for the minor was all that needed to be done.

Honestly, I don't care for the minor too much, its just I want everything on my application to be consistent. I'm freaking out that the LORs and the application state my minor, but the transcript itself does not. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

It's not that big of a deal. Don't worry about the LOR's, too much, just add it on the secondaries your explanation if the school gives you a space to explain discrepancies or other issues. If the school doesn't have a space for this, I would just shoot them a quick e-mail with the explanation.

The only thing I would be concerned about is AMCAS issues and slowing down the verification of the application. Call or e-mail AMCAS in regard to this issue as we cannot help you.

BTW, medical schools on the whole don't care much about minors so it doesn't really affect your application from a quality standpoint if it's not listed.

Thank you for the quick response! I talked to an AMCAS representative and I feel like I was talking to you! She said the same exact words you said....she said it was up to me whether I wanted to indicate on my application about the minor. She said I can update schools through my secondaries, and looking at the coursework, one could tell I would have that chemistry minor, so it should not be a problem.

If it doesn't really matter on the LORs, then should I just not mention the minor on my application?

Do you know if it shows the minor on your OFFICIAL transcript?

Either way, I don't think it really matters.
