Thank you in advance for your input.

While applying I could not decide between psych and internal medicine. I did know however that I did not want to pursue a dual program.

I chose internal medicine with hopes of cardiology. After just a month I am starting to feel like I made the wrong decision.

Have you guys heard of anyone transferring into a psych program after just a few months? Would I have to go through ERAS and apply/interview all over again?

I did it after a year. Didn't decide I wanted to do it for sure until about 6-8 months into my internship. Talked to my IM program director, who was supportive. Then called the two programs in my current city to see if they had R2 positions available. One of them did, I interviewed and ended up there starting for R2. If that route hadn't been successful, I would have gone through ERAS again and probably would have had to have taken a year off, which would have been scary.

It might be too early to really know you want to do this. Starting residency is scary and it's normal to second guess everything. So I would just give it time and determine how much of what you are doing you actually dislike vs. how much just makes you uncomfortable. It's hard to tease out sometimes and discomfort goes away with experience when you're doing something you genuinely do like.
