are there any 1st years who are thinking of transferring to another optometry school besides me? the trimester system at suny is a killer, and a new start somewhere else seems so good right now. do you have to have some sort of special circumstance to transfer?

i don't think you have to, just get in touch with the school you're interested in transfering to and talk to them about it to see what your options are

I know many students who talked about transferring during their first year at SUNY. After first year is over, it gets *much* better, I promise you. Stick with it if you can, good luck.

i will definitely try to stick with it and survive....I felt really bad after seeing that my gpa for the first semester is half of my gpa in undergrad. It's quite a downer.....but i'll try my best this term!

The same thing happened to me. I wonder if that’s common.
