Transferring anesthesiology programs outside of match

Just wondering if anyone knows the process of how to transfer anesthesiology programs outside the match after already completing one year of anesthesiolgy residency while still getting credit for that one year. Thanks.

You basically have to contact your program director, get some type of a release letter from your program and only then will programs even speak to you/consider you (from my experience at least). The best way would be if the program director would help you find another spot by calling/sending letters on your behalf to programs that may have a spot. Ultimately though, you have to make all the phone calls and inquiries.
