I was wondering if anyone knows a good source that explains the different types of graft rejection. I feel like I keep missing these questions even though I go over them each time.

I have gotten lung transplant questions, learned that, and then gotten a renal transplant rejection and then missed that question. Is there some resource that explains all the different types in different organs somewhere?

I think it's just basically

1. Hyperacute: minutes to hours, preformed Ab to ABO blood groups or whatever, immediate necrosis

2. Acute, days to weeks, cell-mediated, due to MHC, interstital lymphocytes, treat w/ upping immunosuppressants

3. Chronic: months to years, humoral and cell-mediated, fibrotic occlusion of vessels (or bronchioles in case of lung), can't really be prevented. So someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the lung = bronchiolitis obliterans, and other organs = fibrotic vascular obliteration.

Levinson is an excellent resource for this stuff. It's a great book in general, but if you only read one part the immunology section is the one not to be missed. Should straighten you out nicely.
