TRIAGE: Apply earlier or apply with an Incomplete transcript

I was wondering if anyone out there had anything to say about submitting an application without major classes that have been know to be filters (e.g. Biochem and O-chem II) on your transcript

I am currently in Biochem, O-Chem II, and Calc Physics II, as well as 4 credits of independent research. This is going to be my most rigorous academic semester. I was planning on applying june first since the majority of the schools I'm applying to go by rolling admission. A fellow pre-med at my school cautioned me that it might be better to submit a little later in order to get the grades from my classes on my transcript because some schools automatically put your app to the side if you don't have a high grade in Biochem and O-chem II.

I know this sounds a little ridiculous and I'm planning on just submitting on June 1st, but maybe somehow this is correct? I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge in this area at all because I have nill!😱

I'm assuming this probably goes on at the bigger more competitive schools with a couple thousand applicants, but I'm going to be applying to a few of those.

I don't think that's true... It's one thing to have a BAD grade in those classes... but to not have a grade reported at all... I doubt that will make anybody not have a reported grade at all doesn't make anybody "automatically put your applicaiton to the side."

As far as I understand it, if you have a consistently high GPA, then apply early, because one more quarter of a high GPA won't really change anything, and you're just losing time.

However if you had a low GPA in the past and you want to demonstrate an upward trend, then it may be worth it to wait for your spring quarter/semester grades before submitting AMCAS. Your application is a little bit later, but the upward trend will positively impact your application.

I definitely know people who have applied without some core prereqs done, and thats perfectly fine. No reason to believe that anybody would toss your application aside because you don't have your biochem or o-chem grades yet. *shrug*

When will your school post this semester's grades? If it's like June 10th, you might just wait and submit then. I'm debating this right now also, and I'm leaning toward sending transcripts, applying close to June 1st with this semester's stuff in progress, and then sending new transcripts when they come out. Either way I don't think it's a huge deal.
