Trig problem (help)

i know sin/cos/tan blah blah of the common angles (30, 45. 90...etc) but how do you solve the weird ones like "(sec (39))^2 + tan (109) = ?"

With a scientific calculator.

Is this a question from a practice exam or did you just come up with it on the spot? I'm assuming the latter because that is way beyond the scope of the DAT. This is coming from someone scoring in the 99th percentile on the QR.

nope. it actually comes from a DAT breakdown...he/she complained that something like what is mentioned above has appeared and he/she just skipped it.

i hope i don't get it on the exam day but if i do i'll probs mark something and skip.

Not possible without using a scientific calculator except if you can make them into one of the 30,60,45,90,180,360,0 angle by subtracting by 180 and 360.
