Triple Board

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Wasn't it you who said in another post "the-more-you-know-the-better?"

Tulane is starting a triple board program this year. Check out freida for the other triple board program listings.

Good luck!

Thanks, Tulanekid, but I was sort of looking for something a little more personal. I guess it's just not common enough that people traversing this board would be applying to it/doing it.

Anyone?

I considered applying to these programs but decided against it because I was considering it more because I loved both peds and psych rather than being definite about wanting to do child psych. It seems very extreme to me to commit to doing child psych from the get-go -- if you were very confident that that child is what you wanted to do, go for it.

On the other hand, I've been very frustrated to find out that many programs don't have exposure to child psych until the third or fourth year. Since I've not ruled that area out, I want to have at least some child experience in the first or second year so that I can apply for fellowships on time. Even worse than not having child exposure until later in residency is the fact that there are many programs where there is no inpatient child and adolescent work for general psych residents.

One thing I can tell you is that Tulane residents do 3 months of child as PGY2s.
