for all you super smart genetics studds....i was wondering if anyone had a good site to explain/draw the trombone model for dna replication. My prof. in class drew the model but she is severely challenged when it comes to the arts. Worst yet..i tried googling it but I get nothing.

thanks

My biochem professor last semester showed us a fantastic set of videos online: http://www.wehi.edu.au/education/wehi-tv/dna/index.html

I watched the DNA replication one, and the trombone model immediately made sense. They're like 10-second clips that cover DNA replication, transcription, and translation. It goes pretty fast and doesn't tell you which molecules are which, but if you know your stuff, you can pretty easily identify which ones are polymerases, ligases, etc.
