Hello Guys,
I just wanted to share some information about truck rentals for out of state and possibly in state movers that might help. I'm in the process of moving from San Antonio, Texas to Philadephia and was getting price quotes from different moving companies. First, I went to the infamous U-Haul website and they quoting me a ridiculous price of nearly $1000 for a 10 foot truck Unhappy with that price I continued my search untill I came upon Penske. Their price quote was $200 for the same size truck and so I booked a reservation. From my research so far Penske seems to be the cheapest moving company. I hope this information is valuable to someone in my same shoes.
Best Wishes,
Keith

Also...KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS!

Upon filling out my taxes this year, I realized that moving costs can be written off and tax deductible. You can deduct the cost of: -packing furniture and other goods,
-shipping items to new location including pets,
-temporary storage up to 30 days if items are not going directly to your new home
-travel fees including hotel rooms and transportation costs, but not your meals. You can include 12 cents per mile for driving personal vehicles or you may use actual out of pocket expenses for gas and oil.
-disconnecting or connecting utilities
-parking fees and bridge, ferry, or road tolls

You cannot deduct:
-other non-moving trips to the new location
-costs for selling home
-temporary lodging while waiting for new home
-vehicle registration and drivers licences
-refitting carpet or daperies
-security deposits forfeited due to move

...so, KEEP THOSE RECEIPTS

hope this helps

oh and by the way, Penske movers is definetely the way to go! They are inexpensive and have newer trucks.
